To look after your raffia and jute and weatherproof it against the dirt and rain, we recommend spraying with Collonil Waterstop Spray before first use, and regularly thereafter.
If the jute soles get dirty wait for them to dry if they are wet. Use an old toothbrush to gently brush off dry mud or dirt. Dry away from direct sunlight and away from a direct heat source.
Jute is a natural tough vegetable fibre. Do not immerse in water. If your espadrilles happen to get wet, place them on their side, in a warm area, not in direct sunlight, nor in front of a direct heat source. You can use a hairdryer on a low heat/speed. You can try some bicarb of soda on the jute (only) to absorb moisture. Do not put in a washing machine.
