The Art Company Brighton 1534S Jeans Blue Denim Sneakers. Was the phrase “walking tall” coined in the city of Brighton? What we do know is that these shoes are called that for a reason. They give you power, determination and authority with maximum lightness and comfort. Need an extra shot of confidence? Celebrate authenticity, diversity and freedom of expression and put Brighton on your feet. You cross at the lights in a hurry and the first thing anyone sees is two blocks of deep blue sitting on a cream sole. Ocean works with a dark indigo, close to freshly dyed cloth, cut into panels of uneven intensity: some colder, others with the wash showing at the corners. The edges are frayed on purpose and will shed a thread or two with wear, the tone lightens across the instep flex point before anywhere else. Against the cream sole the blue reads more saturated than it actually is. And in midwinter, under a long dark coat, it’s the only colour you’re wearing below the knee. With a removable insole, these sneakers accommodate custom orthotics! Handcrafted in Spain.

To look after your denim textile and weatherproof it against dirt and rain, we recommend spraying with Collonil Waterstop Spray before first use, and regularly thereafter.
Steps to clean your shoes:
1. Use a dry brush/cloth. Remove loose dirt from the sole and upper with a soft-bristled shoe brush/cloth.
2. Then use a damp cloth to clean all parts of the shoe.
3. Air dry your shoe.
4. Respray with a protective spray once dry.
5. Keep enjoying your shoes as if they were new.

For anyone who covers serious pavement mileage and isn’t giving up the five centimetres. It works with a chunky knit, a padded jacket and anything black, grey or khaki: the dark blue holds the outfit together without fighting it. Also for anyone who once owned white trainers and got tired of policing them. Here the wear is part of the design from day one. - Design and stride
A 5cm platform with 1.5 cm between heel and toe: you gain height, but the foot sits almost flat. The toothed profile of the sole grips well on wet cobbles and on the polished floor of a station. The Softlight sole weighs far less than its volume suggests, and that’s what makes a full day on a platform possible without dragging your feet by evening. The laces are adjustable and the tongue follows the instep without sliding off. - Materials and construction
Inside, a 3D PL textile lining: a three-dimensional weave that lets air move between foot and upper, useful when you go from a cold street into an overheated interior. The insole is removable, so you can air it, swap in your own or replace it when the time comes. The interior is chrome-free tanned. The upper, in Ocean denim with Menorca leather details, is 360º stitched over Strobel construction, which is what holds upper and sole together as the platform flexes. The textile takes on water, so best waterprotect spray these babies.
